Ski In Ski Art

American ski and snowboard brand K2 has just launched the all-new Omen Ski Collection with Berlin-based artist Julia Schimautz for the winter 2025 season. The artist’s vibrant designs embody the spirit of the Omen Ski Collection, the twin-tip freestyle ski line that offers durability, performance, and a whole lot of fun for park, pipe, and street skiing.

Schimautz is a highly regarded graphic designer known for her bold colors and playful multi-disciplinary art forms. Her graphics for the Omen Ski Collection utilize risograph printing — a technique that blends elements of screen printing and photocopying, creating distinctive blurred shapes through intentional misalignments. Combining vintage aesthetics with the imperfections of printing processes, the result are one-of-a-kind vibrant graphics and a whole new look in ski design.

The Omen ski collection features K2’s Carbon Boost Braid, ample rocker in the tip and tail, and a blunt shape for freestyle. The skis deliver lively pop off jumps while providing the stability needed for stomping landings. Rigorously tested and athlete-approved, the Omen range includes a Team ski and men’s and women’s Omen 90 and Omen 85 versions.

As a lifelong skier, the collaboration felt natural to Schimautz. “It’s such a special opportunity to see my designs come to life on skis and snowboards and to witness how my graphics translate into a real-world product that people will experience in motion,” Schimautz adds.

The Omen Collection is available now at k2ski.com and select retailers.
