French motorbike company, DAB Motors has commemorated the Paris 2024 Olympics with the creation of five custom electric motorbikes in the colors of the Olympic rings. Each represents a different sport: blue for surfing, green for tennis, yellow for basketball, red for boxing, and black for skateboarding. Titled “A La Gloire du Sport”, the collection features the company’s first production electric motorbike, DAB 1α.
DAB is producing just 400 units of the DAB 1α for selected customers who can request personalization and one of these Paris 2024 Olympic inspired designs. Each bike is a unique numbered piece with an engraved numbered plate above the handlebar.
DAB Motors, which was acquired by Peugeot in 2023, was founded by Simon Dabadie and the sports selected represent his favorites from the Paris 2024 Olympics. Beyond the colors, each Olympic inspired bike features special details inspired by each sport.
For tennis fans, the green DAB 1α is offset by contrasting white and custom brown tires. It features a front basket for tennis balls and racket holder.
The DAB 1α surfer edition is ocean blue with a surfboard carrier that holds a special DAB surfboard. The model comes with a blue neoprene seat, off-road tires and fork so surfers can access coastal areas – perhaps Biarritz where the DAB brand was born. This blue design pays homage to the company’s beginnings.
The boxing edition is painted red to denote strength and resilience, and accentuated with gold side panels to reflect the design of championship belts. Boxing gloves are displayed on the seat and a flat front plate features a replica of Mike Tyson’s famous face tattoo.
Skateboarding and BMX converge in the DAB 1α black model, forged with carbon bodywork, hand-painted graffiti, and BMX handlebar foam. It also has crash pods, a tubular protection structure, and a skate rack.
Finally the yellow DAB 1α basketball edition pays tribute to the game’s connections to street culture and hip-hop music, shining through this vibrant shade. A clear carrying case on the side pannier holds a basketball.
The A La Gloire du Sport collection is available when registering for the DAB 1α the DAB Motor website.
