With the right gear, winter can be one of the most beautiful times of the year to run. Wind resistant, waterproof, warm, wicking and breathable layers are all you need. NIKE ELEMENT SHIELD MAX RUNNING JACKET $250. This slim-fitting jacket offers lightweight wind and water resistance without sacrificing freedom of movement. It features breathable stretch Dri-FIT jersey with strategically placed stretch panels, DWR finish, and an adjustable hood with removable face gaiter for extra warmth and protection.

THE NORTH FACE IMPULSE ACTIVE 1/4 ZIP $70. As a base or mid-layer, this lightweight zip top provides optimal warmth on cold weather runs. It features body-mapped construction with knit panels down the center of the back and neck, under the arms, and down the sides for breathability where you need it most.
